Primary Ballet Program (Ages 6–13)

The Primary Ballet Program at The Philadelphia Dance Academy offers beginner-friendly ballet classes for students ages 6–13 in Philadelphia and the Main Line. Beginning with Ballet 1, this structured program introduces students to formal ballet training in a supportive and professional environment.

Designed for both new and continuing students, the curriculum emphasizes proper body alignment, healthy external rotation from the hip, articulation of the feet, musicality, and clear understanding of classical ballet vocabulary. Dancers build strength, coordination, and discipline while developing strong technical foundations essential for long-term success.

Students progress through Ballet 1/1X, 2/2X, and 3/3X at the discretion of faculty, ensuring appropriate placement. Beginning at age 8, students enrolled in Ballet 3/3X and up have the opportunity to audition for The Philadelphia Youth Ballet. providing early performance opportunities within a pre-professional training pathway.
