Our goal at The Philadelphia Dance Academy is to provide exceptional dance training in a professional and positive environment. We view each student as an individual and aim to ensure he or she reaches maximum potential. Students are placed in appropriate training programs and taught by a professional, experienced faculty.

Our programs prioritize refined technique, dancer wellness, and artistic development. We offer: Early Childhood Dance, Primary and Pre-Professional Ballet Programs, a Boys Scholarship Program, Theater Dance, Contemporary Dance, Adult/Teen Recreational Classes, and Pilates. Learn more here.

Ballet students ages 5+ are eligible to audition for the Nutcracker. Ballet students ages 8+ and in Ballet IIIA+ are eligible to audition for The Philadelphia Youth Ballet. Those new to the Academy who would like to audition for the Boys Ballet Scholarship Program or the Pre-Professional Ballet Program can also take their placement audition on this day during the Nutcracker audition time appropriate to their age.

Note: Parent or guardian must attend the first 15 minutes of the audition for your child’s age group

10:00-11:00am Students entering Pre-Ballet II, Ballet I, Ballet II this school year (ages 5-8 for those new to PDA)
11:30am-1:00pm Students entering Ballet IIIA, IIIB this school year (ages 8-11 for those new to PDA)
1:30-3:00pm Students entering Ballet IVA, IVB, V this school year (ages 12+ for those new to PDA)

PYB AUDITION TIME: 3:30-4:30pm for those ages 8+ and in Ballet IIIA+

7th Annual Nutcracker

On Saturday, September 10, we will hold our annual Nutcracker auditions. For more information, see the announcement above and visit our FAQ page here.

The performances will be Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18. Tickets will go on sale in October.

2016-2017 School Year

The next school year runs Monday, September 12, 2016 through Sunday, June 11, 2017, for a total of 36 weeks. Tuition is due September 15 and January 15. Enrollment for the school year is now open.

When you enroll in the fall, you are automatically enrolling for the entire year. If you decide to un-enroll at any time, you must let us know.
